To Have and to Hold

My husband and I bought our dream house in early 2010.  We worked with a wonderful real estate agent who more than earned her commission.  She started working with us two years before that and accompanied us to countless open houses and showings.  She proactively worked with us to understand what our goals and needs were.  She also helped us rent out our other home so we could make the move quickly. At the one year anniversary of our closing, she sent us a card with a gift certificate for a local restaurant that we love.

In the end, the energy she invested in us probably outstripped the commission she earned. Or

Flat Rate Movers in Philadelphia

Hiring a moving company is well worth the money. Leaving things to the professionals will result in less stress and anxiety as well as ensure household goods arrive safe and sound. One of the main decisions to be made about choosing a firm that provides moving services in Philadelphia is whether to go with an hourly or flat rate bid. Knowing the difference will help you make the right choice.

An hourly estimate for moving is a pretty simple concept. The moving company arrives on the appointed date and hour with a truck and a team of movers. You pay an hourly rate for their time until the job is done. Simple, right? Yes and no. Even with an hourly rate there can be surprises if you aren’t aware of all the firm’s policies. Mortgage Rates: Low Mortgage Rates Could Be Continuous Trend

Todays low mortgage rates could become a continuous trend after the Feds Tarullo mentioned that the first choice of action to help the economy and boost the housing sector would be to purchase mortgage backed securities.

Low conforming mortgage rates have become normal to most people, although many are still waiting for them to go even lower. As with any business or personal decision, this can be risky since mortgage rates are already historically low. Todays 30 year fixed mortgage rates are at 3.875% and 15 year fixed mortgage interest rates are at 3.250%. 5/1 ARM loan rates are at 2.625%. A majority of borrowers are interested in obtaining a fixed rate conforming mortgage because it is the simplest type plus it offers a monthly mortgage payment that remains the same for the life of the loan.

Find the Right Boxes for Moving Files

Moving files from an office or home has to be done carefully and it is important to have the right supplies. Relying on boxes rummaged from a supply closet or a warehouse store can leave you with damaged or destroyed files. That is why you should take the time to find specific boxes for moving files. It always pays off in the end.

Boxes for moving files are designed specifically to protect paperwork and make it easier to pack and unpack. While packing files may seem as simple as laying your papers and folders into a box, there is actually a lot more to it. Unless the files fit perfectly into the box, papers and folders can shift dramatically, mixes papers and causing damage. Read more…

Bad Timing For BlackBerry

Research In Motion (RIM), most known for manufacturing and supporting BlackBerries, is starting to recover from its biggest service disruptions in the company’s existence.  The company reported that 80 percent of its users worldwide experienced e-mail, messaging and web browsing issues for the past four days as a result of a network failure in the United Kingdom.

The outages resulted in a public outrage.  Many of my friends considered climbing to the top of a building in Detroit and chucking their BlackBerry as far as they could.

And I can’t blame them.  With the dependence on cell phone usage across the world now, especially in the enterprise setting, not being able to connect to e-mail can have catastrophic results.

Imagine saying this five years ago when most phones didn’t even have e-mail capabilities!

The timing could not have been worse for RIM, but the timing could not have been better for Apple.

RIM’s stock has already been plummeting this year.  Yesterday alone, their stock fell 1.1 percent and they have lost around 59 percent of its value this year alone.  RIM’s share of the U.S. smartphone mar
